The webforms or smart forms offer a flexible interface for the user to fill the database or to fill out forms in a workflow. Distinctly is the use of the browser as a universal front-end. In a webform only those questions are posed which a person can (and should) answer at that moment. Follow-up questions appear only if relevant, as a result of answering preceding questions. In this manner a user is guided through a form in an efficient way. To support the process of answering questions or taking decisions, information from the database (or linked applications) is being looked up and displayed in the webform. This is comparable with the process of booking a flight or hotel room where the actual availability is being shown.
